The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God to all people at all times. Human authors wrote it under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. As such it is the supreme source of truth and is a completely reliable revelation of God. The Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and doctrine.
Water Baptism
Water baptism is immensely important to us at Covenant Life Church Leicester. The Bible puts water baptism alongside repentance (& faith) making it a vital part of God’s full salvation ‘package’ in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is a real person and an equal part of the Trinity, along with God the Father and Jesus the Son. Jesus promised to baptise all his followers in the Holy Spirit. This is an essential and dynamic empowerment, that enables us to live just like Jesus.
Worship
The Bible urges us to ‘love God with all our heart, all our soul and all our strength’. This is true worship. At Covenant Life, we aim to express a full love for God in every area of our lives. Integral to this, is joining together to praise God passionately in our Sunday morning services.
Covenant
Throughout the Bible, God reveals Himself as a covenant-making and covenant-keeping God. The word covenant simply means ‘the joining together through a binding agreement’. The heart and purpose of God’s covenant is expressed in these words “I will be their God and they will be my people”. Covenant Life Church is a family that aspires to live-out and enjoy this reality through expressing a loyal and loving commitment to God and his people.
Kingdom
The Bible grants the title ‘King of kings and Lord of lords’ to Jesus. We believe that Jesus is the ultimate king. He is the one whom God has chosen to exercise His rule and authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). Whoever believes in Jesus and submits to His rule is a part of his invisible, yet tangible, kingdom. It is hallmarked by health, peace, joy and freedom.
Giving – Tithes and Offering
At Covenant Life Church, we believe the Bible teaches us to bring a tithe (10%) of our income to God, as an expression of our gratitude and faith. We also believe in giving offerings as a further demonstration of our thankfulness to God for his generosity and provision. In accordance with the heart of God, much of what is collected is used to help the poor in Britain and overseas.
Serving
Jesus taught and showed us that to serve others is an immense privilege. We embrace this wholeheartedly and desire to serve one another with the unique gifts and abilities that God has given to us.
