Where do you meet?
Our Sunday gathering is at The Big Shed, 93 Commercial Square, Freemens Common, Leicester, LE2 7SR.
You can also visit us in the office at the same location Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 2pm.
What time does the meeting start and finish on a Sunday?
You’ll be greeted by our friendly Welcome Team who’ll show you where the facilities are and point you towards the main gathering which is upstairs. There’s a lift for buggies and those needing help to get upstairs.
We start the gathering at 10.30am with a time of praise and worship where you can expect a lively and exciting time with singing, clapping, dancing, lifting hands and spiritual gifts.
Children are with their family during this time.
Following this, we listen to someone share something from the Bible.
We aim to finish by 12.30pm.
Is there disabled access?
Yes. There are disabled car parking spaces, toilets facilities and lift access to the main hall where we gather.
What happens during the meeting?
Our gatherings start with one of our leaders introduces a time of worship. Words appear on the screen for people to join in with the songs as you feel comfortable. We always let people know what is happening in the life of the church and then have a short break whilst the kids head to their groups. Every week a speaker teaches inspiring messages from the Bible and we offer prayer for those who need it. Breaking Bread (Communion) also is often shared.
Will I be expected to give any money as an offering?
Each week we take up an offering and church members bring their tithes. We also give to what we call ‘change the world’ which is where loose change is given and goes directly to work and projects that the leadership are involved with. Giving is entirely up to you so don’t feel under any pressure to give as you visit us.
What happens at the end of the meeting?
Once the meeting has finished we head downstairs for refreshments. We catch up over tea, coffee and biscuits in a relaxed setting where there’s plenty of comfy seating and children playing together. The youth often head to the ‘youth room’ to hang out and play pool.
What is there for my children?
On Sundays, we have supervised groups from babies to 11 year olds during the ‘second half’ of the meeting. Groups are set by age group and always kick off with drinks, biscuits or fruit.
We’re sure they’ll soon feel settled!
Each group has Bible stories, games and crafts based on their ages.
We have a kidswork policy and procedure in place to make sure that every child in our care at these times on a Sunday are safe. All of our volunteers and supervisors have been had a DBS / CRB check to ensure they are suitable.
We operate a strict ‘sign in and sign out’ policy for security and safe collection of your children.
For visitors there are easy information and contact forms to pop some information about your children in.
For Teens on a Sunday we have a group called ‘Dewth’ which takes places every fortnight where they have their own bible study lead by our youth work team to catch up and discuss their faith in a relaxed way.
What should I wear?
There is no dress code for our gatherings. Feel free to dress casual or smart – whatever you feel most comfortable with.
Where can I park?
There’s plenty of free parking available for both our Sunday gatherings and for our Kids & Carers group during the week.
